Employee Assistance Plan (EAP)
All of us, regardless of our roles, often face difficult or challenging personal and/or work-related situations that may affect our quality of life. Usually we can work them out, but sometimes problems can be difficult to resolve without assistance. That’s where an EAP can help.
What is an Employee Assistance Program?
An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is an initiative of your employer to provide you and your fellow employees with confidential counselling, coaching and support for workplace and personal issues.
What happens during Counselling?
Your first session with an EAP clinician generally lasts about 50 minutes. During this time you will talk about the key issues that brought you to counselling and develop a plan for support.
Why talk with a CQ Psych Services EAP Clinician?
Talking with a trained clinician can help you to identify and resolve issues that may be causing you difficulty. It is possible you may be feeling stressed or overwhelmed with work or personal commitments and sometimes it is hard to know what to do or who to talk to, particularly about concerns you would like to keep private.
Does EAP Counselling work?
Yes. EAP Counselling is most effective when you decide to make the time to understand and work through issues that are preventing you from leading the life you want. Counselling is not about giving advice. It is about helping you to understand your situation and to find answers that work for you.
Is CQ Psych Services EAP service confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality and privacy are important at CQ Psych Services. When you see one of our clinicians, no details of your issues will be discussed with anyone without your permission.
