Medicare

A referral with a Mental Health Care Plan entitles you to a Medicare rebate for up to 10 individual sessions per calendar year. This plan is completed by your GP and allows you to an initial 6 individual sessions of Psychological treatment with Medicare rebates. A review is then required where your GP determines whether you receive another 4 sessions of individual psychological treatment (i.e. total of 10 sessions per calendar year).

It is your GP who determines your eligibility for this plan. You may need to arrange a long consultation with your GP to discuss this. We recommend you advise your GP’s receptionist of the purpose for your appointment at the time of booking.

Sessions are charged at the standard consultation rate. Full payment of the standard session fee is required at the end of each session by cash or card. A receipt will be issued upon payment that you can use for any eligible claim.
